After preaching in two services on Sunday, Veral Blake, AFCI National Director Saint Vincent & the Grenadines, was tired and looking forward to resting on Monday. When the phone rang Monday morning and a woman asked Veral to speak at a meeting later that day, he initially wanted to say, “No, I’m too tired.” However, he felt the Lord leading him to go. He knew this was an opportunity that the Lord had given him, so he accepted the invitation. Veral says the results were amazing.

For the past two months, the woman on the phone had been leading a government program for people who were being moved out of their homes and placed into better living conditions. They were learning how to adapt and prosper in their new circumstances. The woman wanted Veral to close the program with a spiritual challenge.

The program was being held in a church that Veral and his wife Norma had started many years ago in the Campden Park area, and about 60 people were at the meeting that night.

Veral based his message on Luke 5:1-8 and challenged the audience to “Get Jesus into your boat!” Veral says,

“The boat can be anything – your family, your marriage, your life, your plans, or your career. I challenged them to make Jesus a part of their lives and about a dozen people responded to the invitation to receive Christ.”

Veral closed the meeting by praying for these men and women as they not only received a new home, but also began a new relationship with the Lord.
