Now that Covid-19 restrictions are lifting in Romania, life and ministry are returning to normal. Hayward and Barbara Paul, AFCI USA, were recently able to return to Romania to lead another summer youth camp. The Pauls have been partnering with AFCI Romania to conduct these week-long camps for the past 12 years. Once again, it was a week that dramatically changed the lives of many young men and women.

Located near Alba in Transylvania, the camp was nestled in the Carpathian mountains. The week started with the confiscation of all mobile phones for the next five days to keep everyone focused. The mornings began with singing, a devotional, then teaching and discussion groups. The teaching was in English since it is taught in grammar schools and widely used as a second language across Eastern Europe. Afternoons and evenings were filled with the normal camp events – games, hiking in the mountains, campfires, etc.

On the final day, the 37 campers were challenged about their faith. Those who already had made a commitment for Christ were challenged to be serious in living out their faith, and the others were challenged to make their initial step of faith and decide to follow Christ as Lord. Many teens responded to both invitations.

The AFCI Romania National Director, Pica Aghiorghiesei, will now follow up on these decisions.
