AFCI ministry in Peru seeks to build up the local church through evangelism and church planting, discipleship, and leadership development.

In recent months, much of the evangelism focus has been with Venezuelan refugees streaming into Peru. More than 5.6 million refugees and migrants have left Venezuela as a result of the political turmoil, socio-economic instability and the ongoing humanitarian crisis. Peru now hosts over one million displaced Venezuelans, making Peru the second-largest recipient of Venezuelans and the largest host of Venezuelan asylum seekers worldwide. The strain on both the marketplace and the social infrastructure of Peru’s cities have been crushing, as new settlement areas are constantly being forged.

However, in the face of so much desperation, this has given the AFCI Peru team wonderful opportunities to assist these displaced thousands in practical ways as well as sharing about the only real hope anyone ever has, which is Jesus.

AFCI has been helping a local church reach a new settlement area for Christ. AFCI Peru has led visitation teams to welcome and get acquainted with these new expatriates as well as help establish a weekly children’s program to minister to the needs of families. Their desire is to see a new church planted in the coming months.
