In many of the nations where AFCI ministers, the churches are filled with women – the men are noticeably missing. The women fill the pews, and often step up to fill in the gaps in leadership when the men are absent.

In a recent outreach in rural Africa, the AFCI Ghana team noticed that only the women were attending the meetings. The men of the village allowed their wives to attend, but would not go themselves. However, they stayed nearby, gathering in the shadows so that they could hear but not be seen.

On the Sunday at the end of the conference, the AFCI Ghana team challenged the audience to step forward to show they wanted to become followers of Jesus. A number of the men came out of the shadows and stood with the women who were making the same decision. All in all, 25 people decided to follow Jesus.

Please pray that those who responded will become the spiritual leaders in their homes, churches, and communities.
