While Ghana’s constitution promotes religious freedom, there are areas within the country where opposition to the Gospel remains. New Christians in these regions may be ostracized from family and society, often losing their source of income.

The AFCI Ghana team ministers in these rural areas, sharing the hope and freedom of the Gospel. In the past, local religious and tribal leaders have welcomed the team into their villages after seeing their positive impact.

The intense heat of the African sun means that outreach is often held in the evening after the temperatures begin to cool. This makes it easier for people to gather and hear how to become a follower of Jesus.

During a recent trip to a community in the northern part of the country, the AFCI Ghana team found only one Christian in the entire village. At the end of a 3-day crusade, 38 people responded to the Gospel. Now AFCI will have the opportunity to train and encourage this new fellowship of Believers.
