Visiting the Villages

During a recent ministry outreach, the AFCI Pakistan team had the humbling opportunity to visit a brick kiln community, one of the most challenging and heart-breaking places they have ever stepped into.

As they approached, the air was thick with smoke, the sky dimmed by the constant fumes rising from the furnaces. The environment was suffocating, but even more painful was the reality of the miserable living conditions faced by the workers and their families. Entire families, including children, live and labor in harsh conditions with little hope for escape.

Not Forgotten

Many are trapped in cycles of poverty and debt, forgotten by the world, but not forgotten by God. Amidst this darkness, AFCI Pakistan continues to faithfully minister to these precious people. Their unwavering commitment and love for the community are a living testimony of Christ’s compassion in action. As the team gathered with the workers, they shared a brief yet powerful message of hope, reminding them that God sees them, loves them, and has not abandoned them.

In the middle of this visit, one man’s story deeply moved them all. He is a humble brick kiln worker and is suffering from severe lung problems due to long-term exposure to smoke and dust. Despite his critical health condition, he is forced to continue working as he has no other means to provide for his family. Watching him struggle, coughing with every breath, yet pushing through his labor, his story broke their hearts. By God’s grace, the team was able to extend some financial assistance to him, offering a small relief from the burden he carries daily. It was a moment of both sorrow and hope – sorrow for the suffering he endures, but also hope that through this act of love he would know he is seen, valued, and not alone.

God’s Heart Beats for the Oppressed

Standing there, surrounded by smoke and brokenness, the team had a profound realization: “The world may ignore them. The wealthy may despise them. But God, He cherishes them.” God’s love does not discriminate. His heart beats just as strongly for the oppressed, the forgotten, and the poor as it does for anyone else. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is for every person, regardless of status or circumstance—and it is in places like these where His light shines the brightest.

The AFCI Pakistan team left with heavy hearts, but also with a renewed sense of mission. These villagers are not just statistics or nameless faces—they are souls loved by God, worthy of dignity, hope, and a future.
