The Protestant church is still new in Paraguay, comprising only 6% of the population, and the majority of men in Paraguay grow up in broken homes. This is a big concern to Dario Revelli, National Director of Paraguay: “When they come to the Lord, their desire is to be good husbands and fathers, but there are very few role models for them.”
AFCI Paraguay has begun forming small groups of men in local churches who want to grow in their relationship with the Lord so they can experience the power of the Holy Spirit equipping them to walk with godly integrity in their churches and workplaces, and with love and compassion in their homes. Their journey together includes studying Scripture so that “the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Tim. 3:16), spiritual and emotional healing and restoration, and strengthening and deepening their relationship with their Heavenly Father.
Dario comments, “We not only need to receive salvation by God’s grace (Eph. 2:8-10), but also to put the gifts and talents God has given us into His service. As we do this, we have the confidence that we will live an abundant life (John 10:10b) and be able to enjoy much more what God has given us.”
Funds for this project will provide much needed discipleship materials for starting small groups in churches across the country.
