Transforming Communities in the Philippines

Due to financial issues most church planting ministries are done by solo church planters. But the most effective  church plants are initiated by a team. To address the need, AFCI Philippines has trained teams of evangelists to work alongside church planters. The church planting ministry in Angono, Rizal is one of the many projects AFCI Philippines collaborates with all over the country.

dump-site-philippinesThis year, First Baptist Church of Atlanta (FBA) came with a short-term mission team to assist in this church plant. They helped conduct 4 days of Vacation Bible School, 5 days of feeding 200 children, and 2 nights of evangelistic meetings and home visitations. The nine team members of FBA also paid visits to people in 2 dump sites and a flood way. The impact was great!

We are encouraged to know that FBA will return with another mission team next year to do follow-up work, and continue to help with our church planting efforts. Partnerships like this play a very important role in the building up of Christ’s church. Establishing a church in a poor community is a major challenge.  The people are not able to give very much, and most church-planting efforts do not focus here for this very reason.  But AFCI, in partnership with others, is able to help communities like this both socially and spiritually.
