Pica was born in a third generation Christian family. In a summer camp at age 16, he gave his life to Christ and was baptized. Growing up in the church, he led a choir, participated in youth ministry, discipleship groups and went on missions to villages around his home town.
At an early age, Pica was given opportunities to preach in small village churches. Through these experiences, as well as helping organize camps, he felt called to full-time ministry.
After attending Reformed Theological Institute in Bucharest, he moved to the USA and completed a BA degree in Bible at Washington Bible College, with a concentration in Christian counseling and psychology.
Returning to Romania, Pica served as youth pastor assistant in First Baptist church in Cluj. His heart for the lost translated into organizing many mission activities: visiting prisons, programs for gypsy children, camps, and mission trips to villages near Cluj as well as trips into Moldova Republic where they speak Romanian.
Pica married Codruta in 2012, and they have one daughter.
